Job Title: Sheetmetal Fabricator

Job Description

Join an innovative team dedicated to producing high-precision aerospace components through cutting-edge sheet metal fabrication techniques. You will play a crucial role in supporting laser cutting and water jet operations, operating metal forming equipment, and ensuring all products meet industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of laser cutting and water jet operations to prepare and deliver high-precision components.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to assist in the setup and production of aerospace parts.
  • Operate metal forming equipment including brake presses, shears, English wheels, rollers, and drill presses.
  • Aid in the in-process inspection and measurement of parts using precision hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and various gauges.
  • Help with the setup and basic maintenance of machines, including cleaning and tool changes.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and standards while operating machinery and handling materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production, to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Assist in documenting production processes, measurements, and quality control checks as required.

Essential Skills

  • 7-10 years of experience in sheet metal forming using a CNC brake press and CNC sheet roller.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in basic math and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interest in aerospace manufacturing and technology.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced, innovative setting.
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative to contribute to process improvements.
  • Ability to work in a hands-on, physically demanding environment.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with flexibility and adaptability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in aviation, sheet metal, structure, airframe, sheet metal repair, rivet, heavy structures, aircraft modification, and fabrication.
  • Skills in drilling, cherry max, and upsizing.

Work Environment

The work environment is partially climate-controlled with large fans to mitigate summer heat. Tools are provided, and the setting is highly collaborative.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $39.00/hr.
