Shred Technician

We are looking for a Shred Technician - Document Destruction Specialist in Atlanta , GA 30331 to join our team and play a crucial role in our shredding operations, ensuring secure and efficient disposal of confidential materials. Duration: 3-month contract (potential renewal)

Pay Rate: $16.97/hr.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 6 :30 AM-3:30 PM (5 days a week, including 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks. OT and weekend shift depending on the workload) 

Job Responsibilities:

• Wheeling and rolling various-sized bins to the granulator and paper shredder areas
• Bin weights: Paper shredding area - max 350 lbs., Granulator area - max 525 lbs.
• Bins equipped with wheels and secured on an automated electric lift platform
• Activate lift mechanism to empty bins into the granulator/shredder and remove empty bins
• Additional task: Technicians in the granulator area may handle electronic media boxes and place them into the granulator

Requirements:

• Must have attention to detail and constantly be aware of surroundings 
• Must comply with all safety requirements while in the facility, including wearing a high visibility vest, safety glasses, and other safety equipment (all supplied by Iron Mountain) 
• Must be ambulatory, including the ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time; 
•  Must be able to work without assistance to grip, lift, push, and pull wheeled, plastic bins and manually sort items in the bin; 
• Must be able to unload boxes from pallets and empty boxes weighing up to 50lbs into the shredder or collection area.
