Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Distribution Engineering Associate to join our team in Athens, GA. This mid-level role is ideal for professionals with 5 to 10 years of experience in distribution engineering. As a key player in supporting the design, maintenance, and optimization of distribution systems, you will collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of distribution networks in various industries such as energy, utilities, and telecommunications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Support: Assist in designing and planning distribution systems, including electrical power grids, water supply networks, natural gas pipelines, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct technical analyses like load flow analysis, fault analysis, and voltage stability studies, under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Project Support: Provide support for distribution system projects, including documentation, data analysis, and project management tasks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure distribution systems comply with safety standards, industry regulations, environmental requirements, and relevant codes.
- Asset Management: Help develop maintenance and asset management plans to enhance the life and reliability of distribution infrastructure.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance practices, including design reviews, inspections, and testing of distribution systems.
- Documentation Management: Maintain and organize records, drawings, and documentation related to distribution systems.
- Safety Awareness: Promote safety best practices and contribute to initiatives aimed at mitigating hazards and preventing accidents.
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including senior engineers, project managers, field technicians, and regulatory agencies, to achieve project goals.
- Client Relations: Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing technical support and responding to inquiries about distribution systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in distribution engineering or a similar field.
- Proficiency with distribution system design software and tools.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations governing distribution systems.
- Basic project management skills, including project planning, coordination, and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to address technical challenges.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and safety.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.
