East Tennessee Children's Hospital is seeking an additional Pediatric Surgeon . This is a great opportunity to join a busy, well-established team focused on expert surgical care for children of all ages. The ideal candidate will be board certified or eligible, fellowship trained in Pediatric Surgery, and able to obtain a Tennessee Medical License.

This position offers a faculty appointment with the University of Tennessee- Graduate School of Medicine, with rank based on experience. East Tennessee Children's Hospital will launch a pediatric residency program in 2027, providing a unique chance to contribute to training future pediatricians.

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

A qualified physician practicing within Tennessee regulations, managing patient care according to written medical protocols.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Supervisory Responsibilities: YES

Minimum Education: Doctorate required

License/Certification Required: Current DEA and DPS certificates

Minimum Work Experience: 1 year in pediatrics preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of medical principles, procedures, and techniques
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide medical care through patient interviews, examinations, and treatments, including diagnosis and management of healthcare issues
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests
• Record findings and develop treatment plans
• Prescribe medications and recommend therapies
• Oversee medical staff and order tests and studies
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records
• Consult with medical staff and specialists as needed
• Address patient concerns and refer to specialists when necessary
• Provide developmentally appropriate care and health education
• Collaborate with team members and share knowledge
• Stay updated with professional knowledge and practices
• Perform other duties as assigned
