Overview: We are seeking a curious, diligent, and compassionate individual to support the needs of an older child with physical and intellectual disabilities in a private setting that also houses a dynamic family business. A part-time role that could convert to a full-time role if there's a strong fit.

This role goes beyond the basics of activities of daily living to help this friendly, loving child maximize their potential, whatever that looks like, and experience joy on a daily basis.

Shift: Ideal shifts are M-F 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 2:00 PM - 8 PM. Start and end times may be flexible, but consistency week-to-week is a must. Rotational schedules may also be available (e.g., 7 days a week, every other week).

Location: Decatur, GA

Start Date: Immediate - Paid 30-day training/trial period is standard.

Requirements: A reliable work ethic, a can-do attitude, diligence, and flexibility. Being curious and observant — a huge bonus. Expertise in giving fist bumps, high-fives, and/or hugs is critical . Experience in roles/fields like these would also be helpful:

• special education (including teacher, teaching assistant, or paraprofessional)
• rehabilitation support
• physical, occupational, or speech therapy aide
• nursing, medical assistance, or related healthcare roles
• hands-on experience helping physically impaired but cognitively engaged individuals

Key Responsibilities:

• Strengthen and stretch important muscle groups (e.g., range of motion/functional exercises).**
• Support adaptive communication skills.**
• Provide mental stimulation with developmentally appropriate activities, books, and other materials.
• Regularly visit interesting places in the community to practice motor skills and communication in different settings.**
• Keep client's living spaces and belongings tidy, organized, and well-stocked.
• Maintain excellent communication through structured note-taking and regular touchpoints with the family.
• Interact with therapists, medical professionals, and other support staff.
• Help the family prioritize the best ways to support progress.
