Internal Communications Manager

Position Summary:
The Internal Communications Manager plays a crucial role in driving brand awareness, engagement, and internal communication strategies within the company. This position requires a blend of creative thinking, strategic planning, and effective communication skills to ensure alignment with the company's overall marketing objectives and internal culture.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and execute internal communication strategies to ensure alignment of company objectives, values, and initiatives across all departments. Facilitate effective communication channels, including newsletters and intranet updates.
- Safeguard and enhance the company's brand identity and reputation internally. Ensure consistency in messaging, visual branding, and tone of voice across all internal communications.
- Implement initiatives to foster a positive and engaging work environment. Collaborate with HR to develop employee recognition programs, internal events, and initiatives that promote team collaboration and morale.
- Create compelling content for internal communication channels, including written articles, videos, presentations, and infographics. Tailor content to resonate with different departments and employee demographics.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and develop educational materials. Organize workshops, webinars, and seminars. Develop Smith Douglas Homes University in partnership with HR Business Partners, creating compelling branded training collateral used across the business.
- Gather feedback from employees through surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one meetings to assess the effectiveness of internal communication strategies. Use insights to continuously refine and improve internal marketing efforts.
- Explore alternative distribution channels as needed. Utilize channels to effectively reach all employee populations.
- Work closely with the marketing team, IT, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment of internal and external marketing strategies. Facilitate cross-departmental communication and collaboration to achieve shared goals.
- Monitor industry communication and marketing trends and implement as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in internal communication and marketing
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with SharePoint
- Email marketing and campaign experience
- Experience with marketing data analytics and tools (Web analytics, CRM)
- Familiar with Adobe Suite (primarily InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
- Business savvy, detail minded and organized work habits
- Research ability
- Initiative, innovative and self-starter
- Exceptional communication and writing skills
- Ability to foster teamwork and influence, train and develop others
- Customer orientation
- Thorough understanding of marketing elements
- Demonstrated experience with marketing data analysis
