We believe in establishing long-term relationships based on providing purpose-built solutions.We are seeking an Engineering Manager to fill a key leadership role in our Atlanta area location. Primary ResponsibilitiesLead team in Product Cost Estimating, Design and DevelopmentDevelopment of CAD Drawings for internal use and customer requirementsPart and product configuration definition, process definition, DFMEA and PFMEA, pattern and marker developmentCo-ordination and Management of launch of new products into production, working closely with Operations and Quality groupsProblem investigation and resolution applying root cause analysis principlesContinuous Improvement of products and processesDevelopment of specifications and standards, and test plans to verify new/changed designs for customer and regulatory requirementsDevelop, maintain, and standardize engineering procedures to support the company business objective, engineering procedures and forms, engineering systems and technology (SolidWorks, PDM, Optitex), and customer and industry requirements (e.g., ISO9001/AS9100) Other Responsibilities include, but are not limited to Prepare & submit annual engineering budget (Operating & Capital Expenditures) and manage department to approved budget.Prepare, report, and react to engineering departmental objectives (KPIs) Participate in the RFQ process; Assign appropriate engineering resources to respond to opportunitiesPerform design analysis and cost reviews on new and existing opportunities.Manage and schedule the pattern/prototype group, providing final reports and recommendation of new productsPerform and co-ordinate necessary field trials and external engineering verification testing.Prepare process plans, quality plans, and incoming acceptance criteria for new materials, new products, and new projects in coordination with quality and operations.Prepare technical input to finance department to support potential research and development grants/tax rebates.Research material capabilities per application and design.Develop, approve, and maintain drawings, specifications, standards, and engineering test plans to meet company and customer requirements.Prepare process plans, quality plans, and incoming acceptance criteria for new materials, new products, and new projects in coordination with quality and operations.Key Relationships Interface with the senior leadership teamCollaborate with departmental managersLead, coach, and mentor engineering staffPartner with sales to ensure a purposeful RFQ process and shared focus on customer service and satisfactionBuild Relationships with customers, and suppliersProvide Leadership, management, training, and support to the (Atlanta and Texas) Engineering DepartmentsCollaborate with the VP of Sales and Marketing on new product developments Knowledge/Skills/Experience/Abilities Required Bachelor’s Degree Required in Mechanical or Textile Engineering or similar/appropriate technical discipline5 years of engineering management experienceStrong computer skills including Word, Excel, and design/technical softwareAbility to communicate to all levels of employees, both verbally and in writingExceptional organizational leadership skills with a strong attention to detailAbility to multitask and work on multiple projects at any given timePrevious experience with test data and certification proceduresAbility to travel up to 25% of the timeFELLFAB CORPORATION is an equal opportunity employer.
