The Superior Court of Fulton County Georgia (“Court”) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Jury Assistant within its Jury Services Division. Superior Court is Georgia's busiest trial court of general jurisdiction. The Court seeks to provide a forum in which legal disputes between citizens can be resolved in a fair and efficient process with attention to equal access, impartiality, efficiency, and safety. After joining the Court, you will become part of a fast-paced team dedicated to providing the citizens of Fulton County with the service they deserve. Job Summary:
Perform varied clerical, administrative and support tasks related to Jury Management. Essential Duties:
- Provides support and assists jurors during jury service.
- Process questionnaires and summons.
- Prepares and mail summons notices and forms.
- Process juror payments and reimbursements.
- Sorts mail, letters and forms. Enters data into the automated Jury Management System.
- Maintains and updates the inbound and outbound juror interactive voice response system for summoned, trial and grand jurors.
- Maintains and updates demographic and other information for summoned and trial jurors.
- Types and prepares juror correspondence, reports and other materials as requested.
- Work with court staff to ensure the smooth operation of jury trials.
- Assists jurors with general questions and inquiries.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires knowledge of principles and practices of filing and basic records management. General office practices, procedures, equipment, and technology. Requires skill in providing general clerical office support. Using spreadsheets, database, word processing, and other software. Understanding, using and explaining Court Specific computer applications to manage court processes, gather and analyze statistics, and create reports. Delivering high quality, customer-focused service. Building sustainable working relationships with other County personnel, officials, and the public. Communicating effectively with co-workers, supervisor, and the public. Generating enthusiasm and support for program objectives Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED; and at least two years of general office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require a valid Georgia driver’s license. May require affirmation as a Sworn Deputy of Cour t. Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully execute projects assigned by supervisors.
- Demonstrate the ability to r espond to juror phone and email inquiries with professionalism, ensuring grammatical accuracy, and utilizing pre-established templates.
- Demonstrate the ability to a nswer/manage a high volume of juror calls on a daily basis.
- Demonstrate a high standard of customer service excellence.
Work is typically performed in an office-like environment. May work in high conflict situations and with difficult, sometimes
dangerous parties. Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting, standing, mobility,
fingering, grasping, driving, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive physical motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to
lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Performance Metrics:
