Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ASLS, NIHSS Must-Have: C-Section experience required Flexible with changing assignments during the shift Description: The position involves working in a labor pool for medical surgical care. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6. Nurse aides are available with a ratio of 1:8 or 1:10 and occasionally 1:1 for sitters. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. On-call duties will be required for low census situations. Holiday rotations will be managed with permanent staff. Scrub colors are Caribbean Blue. Telemetry services are utilized in different units. Ventilation support includes BIPAP and CPAP. OB/neonatology is available on-site. There are no dedicated IV teams, but PICC is available 24/7. Pharmacy services operate 24/7. Shifts begin at 0645 for 12 hours. Med-surg staffing may float to various areas, and ICU/ED may float as well. Common diagnoses include a variety of acute care patients. Candidates must be adaptable and demonstrate flexibility. The location has a population of approximately 80,000.
