Technical Information Specialist in GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

Experience on Gulfstream aircraft mechanical systems and experience using Catia / Smart Team a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in aviation maintenance, eng technology or related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. An A&P license and 4 years of related aircraft experience in addition to the 4 years combined experience may offset the degree. 4 years related aircraft maintenance and operations experience is required..

Position Purpose :

Responsible (individually or with other team members) as the primary source for the writing of major portions of technical bulletins. To include Customer Bulletins, Aircraft Service Changes and other technical documents for operators. Support the complete workflow process to ensure successful completion of each document and their distribution. Complies with established quality processes to ensure accuracy, ease of use and timely delivery of all content. Under minimal direction, provides advice and guidance to the company and the customer on installation, service, repair, replacement, modification and maintenance of Gulfstream aircraft systems and support equipment for Technical Bulletins. Builds customer relationships with regards to troubleshooting and solving the entire spectrum of aircraft systems, support equipment, and operational problems pertaining to our in-service product.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Develop technical bulletin content by interpreting engineering drawings and data.
  2. Conduct reviews and analyze technical documents to gain a thorough understanding of how complex systems operate and how they are to be integrated into technical documentation to provide the end user with the level of data to support the change or update of the aircraft system.
  3. Consult with internal, external customers and Engineering groups to create/revise technical documents to support the department/corporate operating priorities.
  4. Provide input to management on new processes or technology for integration into the Technical Bulletin business model.
  5. Assist in developing solutions for overcoming the technology/technical issues introduced by outside suppliers for incorporation into existing manuals.
  6. Work with management, other departments, and team members in the development of specific project data.
  7. Liaison with all engineering groups and teams (SBMT, CBMT, SPMT and PCMT) to obtain the necessary approval for technical information prior to its release to customers.
  8. Participate with Technical Information team to ensure all internal department workflows and business processes are followed for issues relating to producing, sharing and delivering technical data.
  9. Support Customer forums such as: Customer Advisory Board, Operators Conference, NBAA, RQAAT, PSBs and Studio G events, as required.
  10. Actively engage in CIO, Organizational, EIP, and Contact Center goals to achieve stated objectives.
  11. Through the use of Lean methodology, identify & implement improvements to internal processes that will improve group efficiency and effectiveness.
  12. Re-enforce customer satisfaction, identify areas of customer frustration, and resolve issues and be an advocate for the customer.
  13. Conceive, develop, test, and evaluate new ways to improve the technical support effort.

Other Requirements:
  1. Advanced knowledge of all aircraft systems methodology.
  2. Strong understanding of computer applications including the use of standard computer word processing programs.
  3. Ability to read and interpret blueprint and Engineering drawings and data.
  4. Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, troubleshooting, technical manuals systems, and aircraft maintenance records system.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
