Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in the requested specialty License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI (preferred, we will offer this if not already held) Must-Have: ICU skills including arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralysis management, titratable drips knowledge, and CVP monitoring. Caring for post-craniotomy patients, TPA administration, and preferred CCRN and TNCC certifications. Required to have 2 nurses to place Foley catheters. Description: This position is for an ICU Registered Nurse. The ICU combines medical, surgical, neurological, and cardiac patients. Common patient types include drug overdose, psychosis, myocardial infarction, subarachnoid hemorrhage, motor vehicle accidents, sepsis, acute respiratory failure, and hypoglycemia. Intensive care involves managing patients on Life Link, CRRT, and intra-aortic balloon pumps. This role requires collaboration with a staffing team that includes CNAs, nurse technicians, respiratory therapists, and security. The unit relies on various technologies, including EMR systems and specialized equipment, such as cardiac monitors and ventilators. Floating will be required to all medical-surgical and critical care areas, including emergency department boarders. Weekend rotation is every other weekend and holiday expectations require working 70% of holidays. Teamwork and communication are essential in this role, with a focus on assisting colleagues and responding promptly to patient needs. Telemetry prioritization is crucial, with a commitment to respond quickly to patient call lights and rover phones.
