We are seeking an Accounting Manager! Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage the accounting team, prepare financial statements, conduct account reconciliations, monitor accounts payable/receivable, input in budgeting and forecasting, analyze financial data ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing financial reporting to senior management..
Responsibilities:
Prioritize, plan and oversee workload for the assigned department; coordinate internal and external communications regarding accounting processes, procedures and timelines; delegate work to subordinate staff; assess and plan for future needs
- Assist in hiring and evaluating the performance of staff
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including staff accountants and A/P, A/R and payroll specialists
- Generate financials and provide insight to senior management to inform decision making
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions
- Perform account reconciliations to maintain data integrity
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and collections, including working with collection agencies for bad debt resolution
- Manage payroll administration, including regular payroll, commissions, benefits, 401(k) and bonus allocations
- Monitor budget performance against actual results, identifying areas for cost control
- Manage fixed assets, depreciation, retirements, lease administration
- Delegate accounting functions for property taxes, business licenses, company credit cards
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risk
- Manage accounting software and systems, including upgrades and data integrity
- Work with management in establishing and overseeing goals and objective for assigned unit
Implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations
- Collaborate with other departments (sales, inventory, operations, etc.) to provide financial insights and support
- Effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Work with senior management in budgeting and forecasting
Qualifications:
- Education and experience. Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher or in accounting with three plus years of supervisory/management experience
- Previous experience in financial branch management, financial services, or other related fields
- B2B commercial business accounting standards and practices
- Knowledge of GAAP guidelines
- Principles of management supervision and ability to train subordinates
- Experience in accounting software systems, with ERP experience preferred
- Intermediate to advance level on MS Office products; Inventory and accounting software
Physical:
- Must be able to handle the physical demands associated with the job including sitting for long periods of time
