Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. This role involves using machining principles to operate CNC mills and lathes, setting up machines for first-run completion, and ensuring precision in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC mills and lathes using machining principles.
  • Set up lathes and mills to complete parts on the first run.
  • Check programs to ensure parts run without scrapping.
  • Measure materials using precision equipment such as ID micrometers, OD micrometers, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
  • Operate and maintain Haas, Daewoo, Cincinnati, Toyoda, and Bridgeport machines.
  • Alter programs to ensure correct speeds and feeds.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years' CNC Machining experience or 1+ years' machining experience with a certificate in machining.
  • Ability to read and interpret information from prints, factory orders, routings, and other documentation.
  • Experience setting up and operating a variety of machining equipment.
  • Ability to download programs, make offsets, and check parts on computer-controlled equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic shop floor mathematics.
  • Capability to run a part correctly the first time without test parts.
  • Proficiency in editing programs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in CNC lathe, CNC mill, machining, blueprint reading, and using micrometers.
  • Ability to take a blueprint and program the CNC machine using G code.
  • Skills in tool and die, manual machining, and troubleshooting parts.
  • Downloading programs is necessary, and extra programming ability is a bonus.
  • Process and part improvement skills are sought after.

Work Environment

The work environment is a shop setting with shifts from Monday to Friday, including Saturdays and occasional Sundays. The current shift is from 6 pm to 4 am, with 10-12 hour shifts daily. Flexibility in the schedule is available if needed. The shop is temperature-controlled and well-lit, ensuring a comfortable and efficient workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gainesville, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.
