About the Position
Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Step Down Unit Duration: 48-hour contract Shift: Not specified Hours per Shift: Not specified Experience: 2 years License: RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in a medical step down unit - Current ACLS and BLS certifications Description: Responsible for managing a patient load of 16-20 beds. Patient care includes conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy. Staffing ratio is 1 to 4 patients. Utilize critical thinking and clinical skills to provide high-quality patient care. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans. Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare providers. Educate patients and families on health management and prevention strategies. Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
