The Role
Are you a licensed electrician looking for a change from the same old day-to-day? At MacroTek, we’re offering the chance to use your electrical expertise while expanding into advanced low-voltage and infrastructure systems.
In this role, about 25% of your work will involve electrical tasks , while the majority will focus on low-voltage systems such as AV, access control, surveillance, and structured cabling. No two days will be the same—you’ll be troubleshooting, problem-solving, and finding creative solutions to unique installation challenges.
This is the perfect role for an electrician who enjoys variety, thrives on figuring things out in the field, and wants a career path beyond traditional electrical contracting.
Responsibilities
Perform electrical tasks such as circuits, terminations, and power connections for systems (approx. 25%).
Install, service, and support low-voltage infrastructure including AV, access control, surveillance, and cabling systems (approx. 75%).
Troubleshoot and resolve installation or cabling challenges with creative, practical solutions.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
Work with conduit, cabling, equipment racks, and system hardware.
Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and the infrastructure team.
Maintain safe, clean, and professional work practices on every job site.
Requirements
Active electrical license (Journeyman or higher) preferred ; strong field experience with willingness to obtain licensing also considered.
Solid background in electrical installation and wiring best practices.
Interest or experience in low-voltage systems (AV, access control, surveillance, cabling).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to unique installation challenges.
Ability to read and follow technical drawings and documentation.
Professional, reliable, and team-oriented with strong communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Travel: Must be willing to travel to job sites. Travel is estimated at 25–30%, primarily regional.
