*Department Information*

The Department of Psychological Science is committed to supporting faculty who deliver high quality teaching, create research opportunities, and foster close student-faculty mentorship. We offer enthusiastic and innovative instruction by professors who teach courses in their specialty areas. Because this passion for psychology is sustained through active research and professional growth, the department is dedicated to supporting outstanding research facilities and continued faculty development. Our curriculum encourages undergraduate students to fully explore the multi-disciplinary field of psychological science. Through our teaching, research, and mentorship, we instill respect for multiple viewpoints and approaches, while inspiring intellectual curiosity and personal growth.

*Job Summary*

The Department of Psychological Science at Georgia College & State University invites applications for a Lecturer in Psychology to begin August 2026. This position will teach courses in Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Human Development, Statistics, & Research Methods at the undergraduate level.

*Responsibilities*

*Faculty - Teaching/Instructing -*

Teaching Responsibilities

* Full-time instructional load teaching (5 courses) in areas of expertise within the academic discipline
* Regular course meetings and instruction
* Mentoring Students
* Other teaching responsibilities

Knowledge and ability to convey current philosophies, practices, and theories related to the academic discipline.

Faculty also contribute to the Georgia College core curriculum by teaching topical freshman (GC1Y) or sophomore seminar (GC2Y) courses.

All Georgia College faculty share the responsibility of teaching our core curriculum and providing foundation courses for majors and non-majors alike. To carry out our public liberal arts mission, we seek faculty with the desire and ability to engage students as they launch their intellectual journey.

*Faculty - Service to Institution*

All faculty are expected to help the department in recruiting majors. Faculty members are expected to attend Department meetings and events.

Faculty are expected to stay current in their field.

Terminal degree in a closely related field.

Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements as stated in C.S. 3.7.1 ( (faculty credentials)).
