Principal Software Engineer

**Job Description** As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will be working closely with software engineers from the various cloud service teams to build secure services and infrastructure that are fundamentally sound and efficient. Your influence over the design of the full system architecture is critical. You should be familiar with all levels of the software, hardware, and network stack; while having deep knowledge in a few. Intellectual curiosity and an excitement for solving complex problems of complex massive systems are a must. You should value simplicity and usability as well as security and work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment. Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs. As Software Engineer, you will work with a team of software engineers responsible for the software design, development, and operations for our new and existing products. You should be able to architect broad systems interactions, be hands-on, be able to dive deep into any part of the stack, You should value simplicity and impact, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Our senior engineers are also the people who can work independently and provide technical leadership to the organization. You should have experience developing and operating high-scale services, and an understanding of how to make these cloud-scale services resilient. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and productive; someone who knows how to balance speed and quality with iterative and incremental improvements. You understand operational excellence and know-how to infuse a culture of being proactive within your team. You recommend and justify major changes to new and existing products and establish consensus with data-driven approaches. **Responsibilities** skills needed ============== BS or MS degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience 10+ years of total experience in software development Demonstrated ability to write great code using Java, GoLang, C#, or similar OO languages Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, and standard network architectures. Strong knowledge of databases, NoSQL, storage, and distributed persistence technologies. Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript, React, Vue or Angular and UX tools such as figma or equivalent Proven ability to deliver products and experience with the full software development lifecycle Experience working on large-scale, highly distributed services infrastructure Experience working in an operational environment with mission-critical tier-one livesite servicing Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive Disclaimer: **Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.** **Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only** US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. Oracle US offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes the following: 1. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours. 11. Paid parental leave 12.
