Senior Accountant

GHJ Search and Staffing serves as the recruitment division of GHJ, a prominent national accounting and advisory firm. Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJ’s relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client’s needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain the general ledger, process and review journal entries, and prepare data analysis and account reconciliations.

Play a key role in the month-end close process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.

Review the work of others to ensure alignment with GAAP, internal policies, and applicable regulations.

Support the accounting team in developing and monitoring systematic reporting for accurate financial data.

Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.

Analyze cost and profitability data, particularly in a production or operations setting, and report findings to leadership.

Provide support for complex accounting matters and issues.

Assist with internal compliance efforts and maintain documentation related to internal controls and regulatory frameworks.

Collaborate with internal and external auditors by preparing and providing necessary documentation.

Analyze inventory transactions and assist management with making timely adjustments.

Participate in the physical inventory process, with a focus on identifying process improvements.

Evaluate labor and overhead costs for accuracy and consistency.

Create and maintain company documentation such as policies and procedures.

Generate regular and ad hoc financial reports for internal stakeholders.

Support tax documentation and reporting processes as needed.

Develop financial analysis and reporting for a variety of audiences.

Offer guidance and support to team members through communication and training.

Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience

Strong organizational and time management skills

Proactive, self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to meet deadlines

$85,000 - $105,000 a year
