Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will support core accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvements. This role will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving variances
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
• Assist with development and improvement of internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Handle tax-related filings including sales tax, property tax, and other compliance requirements
• Support internal reporting and assist with ad hoc projects as needed
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data
• Cross-train across accounting functions (AP, AR, etc.) to support team coverage

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of general accounting and/or audit experience (mix preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience preparing financial statements and supporting reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail and leadership potential

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with lease accounting, service contracts, or commission structures
• ERP or accounting system experience (e.g., ECI E-automate, QuickBooks)
• Background in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or Inventory accounting
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting
