*About the College/Unit/Department:*The Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery comprises approximately 50 faculty members, 51 clinical residents, 10 rotating interns, seven specialty interns, and three administrative staff members. Shared laboratory space and technical support are provided within the Department, and six dedicated research technicians assist in the research missions of the Department's faculty. Specialties within the Department include anesthesia, cardiology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, neurology, nutrition, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, radiology, shelter medicine, soft tissue surgery, and zoological medicine, as well as a community practice program. The Department participates in the college-wide veterinary, graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.), and undergraduate programs. Department members also actively collaborate with faculty members from other departments within the college and other colleges on campus including the College of Public Health, College of Engineering, Department of Nutrition, Complex Carbohydrate Research Center, the University of Georgia School of Medicine, the Athens campus of the Medical College of Georgia, and the Precision One Health Initiative. There are external collaborations through organizations such as the Clinical and Translational Science Alliance, which includes The University of Georgia, Emory University, Georgia Tech University, and Morehouse University, and with other universities within and outside of the state of Georgia. The Department has a strong track record for teaching, research, and clinical service.

*Position Summary:*The College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia, invites applications for clinical track (non-tenure track), tenure track, or tenured faculty positions in small animal internal medicine at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor.

The major responsibilities for this position are to teach and provide service in small animal internal medicine in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, teach didactic and laboratory courses related to internal medicine topics to veterinary students, actively participate in the training of residents and interns, and develop a research program, which can be independent and/or collaborative with other faculty members. Proportionate assignments for each area will be based on the candidate's interests in conjunction with the missions of the internal medicine program and the Department. The service enjoys access to vanguard technology, including an endoscopy suite with a complement of endoscopic equipment, Ho:YAG laser, electrosurgical resectoscope, a new Somatom Definition Edge 128 slice CT by Siemens, 3.0 Tesla MRI, digital radiography, ultrasound, nuclear scintigraphy, full laboratory support, and a dedicated interventional radiology suite with a ceiling mounted Canon Alphenix c-arm. The Veterinary Teaching Hospital is a 300,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility where each specialty has its own dedicated rounds room.

*Additional Requirements:*All candidates must have completed an approved residency of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine or the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and have board certification or be eligible for board certification. For the tenure-track or tenured faculty ranks, documented research productivity commensurate with rank and interest in developing a research program is required.
