Southern Belle Vacation Rentals is looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Savannah, GA . This hands-on role is ideal for someone with solid repair skills and a commitment to keeping properties in excellent condition. You’ll handle a variety of maintenance tasks, from fixing light fixtures and clearing minor plumbing clogs to troubleshooting Wi-Fi and maintaining electronic locks.

The right candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and with a team. You’ll respond quickly to guest requests, complete work orders efficiently, and help ensure each property meets our high standards of quality and care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work Objectives

• Perform minor repairs and/or replacements of room furniture, fixtures, window units, portable units, internet extenders, electronic door locks, and equipment to include television sets with TV mounts, light fixtures, clear minor plumbing clogs, etc.
• Resolve work orders reported in a timely manner and responding to guests needs
• Protect Company assets by properly securing tools, equipment, and supplies
• Report requests for major repairs to assigned Maintenance Coordinator

Guest Satisfaction

• Announce presence and enter properties in accordance with Company standards and procedures
• Smile, acknowledge, and greet guests while in properties or any other area of the building
• Respond to guest service teams requests for immediate repairs

Teamwork

• Be available to work a flexible schedule. Weekends and holidays are a MUST!
• Assist other employees in various assignments

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience as a handyman or maintenance technician - must have basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and/or other general repair skills
• Must understand how to troubleshoot Wi-Fi and internet connectivity issues, with a solid understanding of how to change network names and passwords.
• Must display very good organization and time management skills.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
• Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and work with little or no supervision
• Must be able to consistently work under pressure and simultaneously prioritize multiple projects

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• The ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions
• Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods, often for a minimum of two hours at a time
• Must be able to frequently walk and climb/descend stairs.
• Required to carry and climb up and down ladders
• Must have general dexterity for firm and simple grasping of objects. Some tasks, such as the use of small repair tools, may also require fine dexterity skills.
• Must be able to periodically kneel, reach, crawl, and twist torso as needed to accomplish required tasks
• Must be able to push and/or pull approximately 60% of the time, to include when using a cart to carry linens, trash, tools, etc. or when operating equipment such as a lawnmower, pavement sweeper, wheelbarrow, etc.
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 65 pounds without assistance and a maximum of 140 pounds with assistance.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Prefer at least five (5) years of related general repair experience

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Compensation: $28 an hour
