Fabricator/Mechanical Assembler

Our client seeking a detail-oriented Fabricator/Mechanical Assembler to join their manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the precision assembly of mechanical components and sub-assemblies using blueprints, schematics, and various fabrication tools. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Precision Assembly: Build complex mechanical parts, brackets, frames, and housings using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic equipment.

• Blueprint Reading: Interpret and follow engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and detailed work orders.

• Metal Fabrication: Operate shop machinery, including shears and punch presses, to cut and form parts to exact specifications.

• Quality Assurance: Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify tolerances ($\pm 0.005$") and perform functional tests on finished products.

• Documentation: Accurately record production data and inspection results in our ERP system.

• Safety & 5S: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and strictly adhere to all PPE and safety protocols.

Core Competencies & Technical Skills

• Blueprint Literacy: Expert ability to translate 2D drawings into 3D physical assemblies.

• Tool Proficiency: Mastery of industrial power tools, grinders, drills, and rivet guns.

• Machinery Operation: Hands-on experience with metal shears and punch presses.

• Measurement Expert: Proficient in the use of precision measurement instruments (Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges).

• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot fitment issues and coordinate with engineering.

• Welding (Plus): Foundational knowledge of MIG or TIG welding is highly preferred.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 10 hrs of overtime per week
• working weekends
