An experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RN opportunity is available in a Level 1 Trauma designated teaching hospital. This contract role offers exposure to diverse inpatient med surg units providing comprehensive care to patients with various diagnoses. The setting is dynamic and team-oriented, with strong support resources on each unit.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 years Med Surg/Telemetry RN experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Certification in Med Surg nursing is a plus
• Proficient in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucometer use
• Skilled in managing common drips such as insulin, heparin, and cardiac drips requiring titration to heart rate
• Must pass an EKG competency exam during onboarding

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to med surg/telemetry patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, resource nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Utilize EMR (Epic) and equipment such as Alariso IV pumps and Phillip monitors
• Float across all Med/Tele units as needed, functioning within a flexible team model
• Participate in 1-day facility orientation and 2-day departmental training modules
