OUTPATIENT SURGERY - RN

Job Title: RN – Outpatient Surgery

Rate: Up to $1900.00 weekly

Location: Athens, GA

Day Shift (8H) (5x8hrs) (6:30A-3P)

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Preparation : Prepare patients for surgery by conducting pre-operative assessments, explaining procedures, and ensuring that patients understand the process and any necessary pre-operative instructions.
• Assisting During Surgery : Assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and functioning properly. This includes maintaining a sterile environment and providing support to the surgical team as needed.
• Post-Operative Care : After surgery, monitor patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), assessing their recovery and managing any immediate post-operative needs. Provide pain management and monitor vital signs to ensure patient safety.
• Patient Education : Educate patients and their families about post-operative care, including wound care, medication management, and signs of complications. This education is crucial for ensuring a smooth recovery process.
• Documentation and Communication : Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with hospital policies.
• Quality Improvement : Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety, adhering to best practices and hospital protocols.
• Team Collaboration : Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, anesthetists, and other nursing staff, to provide comprehensive care to patients.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

Experience

• Prefer a minimum of one (2) year of Outpatient Surgery experience.

Licenses/Certifications

• Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
