Supervisor
Steward Machine Company, a multi-generation family-owned business with over 100 years of success, is seeking a dedicated 2nd Shift Plant Supervisor for our Bainbridge, GA location. With one of the largest CNC machinery setups globally, we pride ourselves on our extensive lifting capacity and comprehensive in-house services, including shop drawings, fabricating, welding, and more. Responsibilities
- Supervise and organize staff to ensure efficient production of manufactured products.
- Communicate, train, and guide team members to optimize manufacturing efforts.
- Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, monitoring progress, and resolving issues.
- Maintain quality service by enforcing production standards.
- Ensure equipment operation by coordinating repairs and evaluating new equipment.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating personnel on safety protocols and compliance.
Qualifications
- Strong background in welding and metal fabrication; AWS D1.5 certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with AISC standards.
- Experience supervising a team of 25 to 50 tradesmen.
- Ability to interact effectively with multiple shifts.
- Attention to safety, detail, and quality.
- Experience with heavy structures fabrication and welding (100 to 500 tons).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years of prior supervisory experience.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Strong team-building, decision-making, and people management skills.
- Ability to provide effective guidance and direction.
- Capability to oversee departments with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to deliver business results independently and through others.
