Custodian
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety in our facility. The custodian is responsible for cleaning and maintaining buildings, including offices, restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and public areas. This role is essential in providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.
Dust furniture, walls, and equipment.
Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
Lock and unlock buildings as needed; secure facilities at end of shift.
Set up or rearrange furniture and equipment for events or meetings.
Perform minor maintenance and report larger maintenance issues.
Follow cleaning schedules and safety protocols.
Use cleaning equipment and chemicals in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior custodial or janitorial experience is a plus.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (bending, walking, standing for long periods).
Knowledge of cleaning products, supplies, and techniques.
Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
Good time management and attention to detail.
