Floater Teachers

A floater is a versatile childcare staff member who provides support across multiple classrooms and age groups within the childcare center. Rather than being assigned to one specific class, a floater moves where he or she is needed to assist teachers, maintain appropriate child-to-staff ratios, supervise children, and ensure daily operations run smoothly.

• Covering teachers’ breaks and absences
• Assisting with classroom activities
• Supporting transitions
• Supervising children during meals, naps, and outdoor play
• Helping maintain safety and classroom cleanliness
• Participating in staff meetings and events
• Helping the center to maintain state licensing requirements

• Minimum Age: 18 years old
• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Must complete a satisfactory fingerprint-based background check
• Flexibility: Floaters work with different age groups and classrooms throughout the day
• Physical Ability: Lifting children, standing for long periods, diaper changing, cleaning, and active supervision
• Soft Skills: Patience, communication, teamwork, reliability, and ability to adapt quickly
• Maintain a minimum of 10 hours of annual training from Bright From The Start

• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
