Campground Assistant General Manager

Job Summary: The Assistant General RV Manager is responsible for assisting the campground general manager will provide full support to the General RV Manager with directing and controlling the operations of the resort and giving strategic information and suggestions to the business operations manager in addition to the owners of the resort to ensure that the resort achieves its mission and objectives. The Assistant Manager is the manager on-duty anytime the Park Manager is off or away from the park.
Essential Job Duties: (these duties include, but are not limited to):
1. Administration, Office, Store, Reservations and Front Desk:
a. Hands-On leadership and supervision of Reservations and Front Desk staffb. Attain high-level proficiency in Reservation Management Systemc. Implement, oversee and participate in all Administrative, Office and Reservation functions.d. Inventory control and managemente. Daily and monthly reporting to Managementf. Assist in the creation of annual budget for park operationsg. Assist in the creation of annual budgeth. Attend weekly budgetary comparison and management conference call meetings with Managementi. Assist accounting with vendor cost coding and other accounting processesj. Maintain organized reporting and record keeping
k. IT Support
2. Park Operations:
a. Hands-On leadership and supervision of Operations, Grounds, and Maintenance staffb. Create and monitor preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for equipment, facilities, amenities and vehiclesc. Conduct required pool, drinking water and sanitation testing and submit to the appropriate agenciesd. Maintain organized reporting and record keeping
e. Monitor costs and investigate ways to minimize expenses.
3. Activities :
a. Oversee, plan and implement Special Eventsb. Oversee, plan and implement Holiday Events for: Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve and other themed weekends.
4. Marketing:
1. Prepare and execute promotional methods to ensure maximum camper participation. Maintain and update all informational and activity boards through the resort on a regular (daily/weekly) basis to coincide with the theme
2. Work to keep website current
3. You will also be responsible for promoting the Yogi Bear character and themes on Social Media; create email blasts
4. Propose tradeshow schedule and budget for approval by Management e. Travel and work all camping shows
5. Assist with creation of yearly marketing plan and provide input for new marketing opportunities and business development
6. Create and Distribute recreation information with proper trademark on website, other advertising venues, handouts to staff and guests, as well as the park information/bulletin boards.
7. Create and maintain the illusion that Yogi Bear and friends are real ensuring all guests have a positive and entertaining experience during their stay
5. IT Support:
On The Job Certification and Training Requirements:
? Managers are required to have knowledge and obtain all National, State, and Local certifications and licenses needed to operate the campground. At least one Manager
? Must secure Certified Pool Operator Certification within sixty (60) business days from date of hire
? Attend annual Symposium
? Attend CAMP within a year of starting position
? Attend other educational sessions as directed.
? Represent Park at trade shows
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Previous Management Experience and/or a Degree in Hospitality or related field
- Preferred: Previous RV Park /Campground Experience (five years of relent experience)
- Preferred: Previous experience working within the Jellystone franchise
- Preferred: Previous experience in graphic/web design
- Desired: IT Support
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of one-year experience in management preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written venues
- Specific training and /or experience in guest services
- Experience with Microsoft Word, and Campground Manager a plus.
- Current certifications in First Aid/CPR and AED or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Personable, enjoy working with children/people
- Possess excellent organization and project management skills, leadership skills as well as the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Possess exceptional guest relations skills
- Weekend hours are required
Physical Demands: This position is an extremely physically active position. Must be able to remain stationary for long periods of time, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions (hot and humid, rainy, extreme temperatures, airborne particles)
Travel: Minimal daily off-site travel should be required on a daily basis. When purchasing we encourage managers to identify vendors that deliver for free or a small fee and to look ahead to ensure that orders are submitted in such a manner that they can be delivered on time. Periodic travel will be required for off-site training.
