Facilities Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry.

• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and resolve maintenance issues proactively.

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls to minimize downtime.

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good working condition.

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers for specialized repairs or installations.

• Maintain records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.

• Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in facilities or building maintenance (commercial, industrial, or institutional setting preferred).

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Proficient with basic tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software (CMMS).

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

License

• Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, or working in confined spaces.

• Availability for overtime, or weekend work as required.

Work Environment

• Primarily indoor environment with occasional outdoor work.
