The Emory Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Movement Disorders Post Graduate Fellowship Program is accepting applications for the next cohort. This one-year training program aims to develop expert clinical specialists passionate about Parkinson's care.

Fellowship Program Details

Fellows train alongside Physician Fellows in an interprofessional environment, engaging in at least 300 didactic hours and 1,500 clinical hours. Expect to spend about five days a week on-site, with most days dedicated to clinical work across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Application Requirements

Submit the following supporting documents:

• CV/Resume
• Statement of Intent (one page, double-spaced, describing your career goals, strengths, and interests in Parkinson's and Movement Disorders)
• Official Transcripts
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association

• Two letters of recommendation, including one from a program director or physician familiar with your work.

Position Summary

The NP Fellow will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to care for patients with movement disorders, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education.

Competencies upon Completion

• Understanding of movement disorder pathophysiology
• Application of evidence-based medicine
• Performing examinations and procedures
• Diagnosing and developing care plans
• Ordering tests and interpreting data
• Prescribing medications and treatments
• Patient education and follow-up planning

Core Professional Duties

• Participate in professional development and organizational activities
• Be on backup call once a month
• Engage in community outreach and education activities

Educational Components

• Self-learning modules and courses on Parkinson's care
• Conferences including Aspen Movement Disorders Course and PF Team Training

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate degree as a Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care Adult-Gerontology or Family)
• Certification and licensure in Georgia
• Minimum three years RN experience and one year NP experience preferred
