Job Summary Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of data systems that power Augusta University's REDCap environment, High Performance Computing (HPC) resources, and integrations with research and enterprise platforms. This position focuses on building and managing scalable, secure, and compliant data workflows that meet regulatory standards such as HIPAA and FERPA, while assisting researchers in collecting, managing, and analyzing clinical and academic research data efficiently. Responsibilities SUPPORT AND MAINTAIN RESEARCH COMPUTING ENVIRONMENTS: Support and maintain research computing environments, including HPC clusters, REDCap, and data storage systems. PROVIDE TECHNICAL CONSULTATION: Provide technical consultation and training for faculty, staff, and students on research computing tools and best practices. COORDINATE WITH VENDORS, PARTNERS, AND PEER INSTITUTIONS: Coordinate with vendors, consortium partners, and peer institutions to evaluate emerging technologies and enhance research system capabilities. COLLABORATE WITH INSTITUTIONAL ARCHITECTS: Collaborate with institutional architects to align operations with enterprise architecture, security, and data governance standard. DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN INTEGRATIONS: Develop and maintain secure data integrations and ETL pipelines connecting institutional systems such as ERP, IRB, LIMS, and EHR platforms. IMPLEMENT SYSTEM UPGRADES, PATCHES, AND DEPLOYMENTS: Implement system upgrades, patches, and deployments to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance. ASSIST RESEARCHERS WITH WORKFLOW: Assist researchers with workflow automation, job submissions, data analysis pipelines, and technical troubleshooting. MONITOR SYSTEMS: Monitor system performance, logs, and capacity; identify and resolve issues or performance bottlenecks. CONDUCT AUDITS & SCANS: Conduct security audits, vulnerability scans, and compliance checks to ensure readiness for HIPAA, FERPA, GDPR, and IRB standards. MAINTAIN DOCUMENTATION: Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and knowledge-based content supporting research technology operations. PARTICIPATE IN GOVERNANCE COMMITTEES: Participate in research data governance committees and cross-functional working groups to advance institutional objectives. : Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field and four years of experience in research computing, data engineering, or systems administration OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field a related field and six years of experience in research computing, data engineering, or systems administration. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting REDCap or HPC systems in a higher-education or academic medical center setting. Familiarity with integrating research systems such as EHR (Epic, Cerner), CTMS, IRB, or LIMS platforms. Experience using Globus or other secure research data transfer tools. Understanding of human subjects' research data workflows and compliance requirements. Proficiency with version control systems. Knowledge of project management and collaborative development practices. Experience working in cross-functional teams with architects, engineers, and research stakeholders to deliver technical solutions. Demonstrated experience with Linux/Unix systems and research computing platforms (HPC, REDCap). Working knowledge of databases, APIs, and data integration workflows. Understanding of data governance, compliance, and information security standards. Familiarity with automation and containerization technologies (e.g., Ansible, Docker, Singularity). Ability to collaborate with institutional architects and technical teams to implement enterprise strategies. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities KNOWLEDGE

Data governance principles, metadata standards, and data stewardship.
Containerization and virtualization tools (Singularity, Docker, VMware).
Scripting and programming languages (Python, R, Bash, SQL).
HPC storage systems (GPFS, Lustre) and high-performance networking concepts. SKILLS
Linux administration and shell scripting.
Software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting in research environments.
API and ETL pipeline development.
Diagnostic and performance-tuning skills across compute and data systems.
Strong written and verbal communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
