General Laborer

Openwork is now hiring General Labor Associates for scrap metal recycling yards in Locust Grove, GA and Griffin, GA. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, working with their hands, and performing physically demanding work in an outdoor industrial environment. If you prefer active, hands-on work over sitting at a desk, this could be a great fit for you.

This is a fast-paced outdoor position that requires continuous physical labor and productivity throughout the entire shift. Employees work outside in all weather conditions year-round, including heat, cold, rain, and other outdoor elements. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors daily and staying active throughout the shift with very limited downtime.

Position: General Labor – Scrap Metal Recycling Yard
Pay Rate: $15.00/hr
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Job Duties:

• Sort and separate scrap metal by hand.
• Assist with loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
• Perform repetitive heavy lifting up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
• Maintain cleanliness of the recycling yard and surrounding work areas.
• Use hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Support daily yard operations in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Remain productive and physically active throughout the entire workday.

Requirements:

• Must be dependable and report to work on time daily.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be physically capable of performing demanding manual labor throughout the shift.
• Previous outdoor labor experience preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Steel toe boots required at all times.
• Must dress appropriately for changing weather conditions and outdoor work environments.
