Summary of Job Duties:
The Beta in Bentonville prototyping lab is operated by the University of Arkansas at the Collaborative in Bentonville. This dynamic hub services our entrepreneurial ecosystem offering technical assistance for startup founders including CAD design and functional prototyping for their physical products offering a unique blend of technical expertise and accessibility tailored to the entrepreneurial landscape of Northwest Arkansas. The ideal prototyping intern candidate will have experience with some or all the following machine shop equipment: manual milling manual lathe CNC machining band saw belt sander hand tools precision measuring tools CAD/CAM software 3D printing MIG/TIG welders and plasma cutting. This position will require the ability to work well with other team members follow proper safety procedures willingness to be properly trained possess good communication skills and follow directions both written and verbal. Job Duties: The prototyping intern will assist the lab manager with prototyping projects submitted to Beta in Bentonville. The projects submitted will be related but not limited to the outdoor recreation industry and may include CAD design metal fabrication manual machining CNC machining and 3D printing. Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.
