Location: Atlanta, GA (Buckhead) – Onsite (Hybrid potential after probationary period)
Shift: M-F 1st (Flexible)
Pay: $28/hour

Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist supports the Finance team and reports directly to the Accounting Manager. This role is responsible for managing full-cycle payroll operations for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a high level of service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Administer full-cycle payroll for U.S. and Canada employees, including multi-state and provincial payrolls
• Process exempt and non-exempt payroll cycles, including biweekly and off-cycle runs
• Calculate wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and taxes accurately
• Maintain and manage withholding, state, and local tax licenses and registrations
• Prepare and validate direct deposits and pay summaries
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and provincial payroll laws and regulations, including FLSA and Canadian standards
• Audit and maintain employee payroll data within HRIS systems for accuracy and completeness
• Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and management
• Collaborate with HR, Accounting, Operations, and leadership to resolve payroll issues
• Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, audits, and month-end close processes
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist with documentation of payroll procedures

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 3+ years of payroll administration experience preferred
• Strong experience with Paylocity (required)
• Experience with multi-state U.S. payroll; Canadian payroll experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and benefits administration
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment preferred
